Reiki is a Japanese healing practice that originated in Japan in the early 20th century through Mikao Usui. The word Reiki is formed from two Japanese characters: Rei, often interpreted in Reiki traditions as universal or spiritual wisdom, and Ki, meaning life energy. Together, they are commonly understood within the practice as universal life energy.
At its heart, Reiki is a practice of stillness, presence, and intentional care. It is based on the traditional Reiki understanding that life energy flows through all living things and that supporting a sense of balance and harmony can contribute to overall well-being.

Many recipients report feeling relaxed, calm, and rejuvenated after sessions. Reiki may help in reducing stress, anxiety, and pain perception, potentially by triggering the body's relaxation response. This response can lead to:
Reduced heart rate and blood pressure: By promoting relaxation, Reiki may help lower heart rate and blood pressure, which can have a calming effect on the body.
Enhanced immune function: Stress reduction is associated with improved immune system function, potentially making the body more resilient to illness.
Improved sleep and digestion: Relaxation can also positively affect sleep quality and digestive health, both of which are closely linked to stress levels.
It's important to note that Reiki is not a substitute for medical treatment.

You remain fully clothed and comfortably lie on the treatment table while I offer Reiki through gentle hand placements or by holding my hands just above the body, depending on the approach used and your comfort level.
You don’t need to do anything special or have any prior experience with Reiki. Simply relax, breathe naturally, and allow yourself to receive the session in whatever way feels comfortable for you. Each person’s experience is unique. You might feel some tingling, cold or warm sensations, sleepy, emotional, or nothing at all and that’s okay!
My goal is for you to leave feeling that you have taken meaningful time for yourself in a space where you feel safe, respected, and cared for.

Reiki is not a religion, nor is it affiliated with any religious doctrine or belief system. It does not require belief in a particular deity, and there are no rituals or dogmas associated with its practice. Reiki is a spiritual practice in the sense that it involves energy and mindfulness, but it is accessible to individuals of all faiths, as well as those without any religious beliefs. It focuses on personal energy flow and healing rather than workshop or religious rituals.

I am a Reiki Master who has been on my Reiki journey since 2015. I began my training with my first Reiki teacher in Ohio before joining the military. Throughout the years, I continued learning from different teachers in Washington State and Hawaii, completing Reiki Levels I, II, and III, and eventually achieving Reiki Master level.
I intentionally allowed my journey to unfold over time because I believe there is value in learning from different teachers, gaining experience, and deepening your understanding of this practice. My path has been one of continued learning, personal growth, and a commitment to offering Reiki with care, and respect for each individual.
